Than
k You For Stopping By
My name is D. A. Stuart and I am running for Mayor of Goldsboro in the upcoming Nov 6th election. Although running as a non-partisan, I am a registered Republican that has become disenchanted with both political parties.
I believe that Goldsboro has unlimited potential and I'd like to help it achieve it to the fullest.
First of all as this campaign continues, you’re going to hear the usual rhetoric. Issues will surface that haven't been touched on since the last election, and will be tabled shortly thereafter for another 4 years. This website and/or my platform contained herein, may force some of the other candidates to show their hand.
When asked a question, it is quite normal for a politician to answer in a long winded response. And that is okay, if, after he finishes saying what he has to say, you can ask yourself...."Was that a ' Yes' or a' No'? Did he say he was' For it' or ' Against it'"? Where does he stand on the issue and did he even answer the question ?
Warning:
You are going to read within these pages, some things that may be shocking to the conscience, stimulating to say the least. But here you will be able to find the Truth, if you are looking for it. You will be introduced to new ideas and concepts, most of which have simple, common sense solutions. Some have not been discussed before, others have been sidestepped and passed over.
Some people will actually be offended, but only because they choose to take offense.
Four years ago, in the last election I ran for city council to represent District 3, and subsequently as a write in for mayor. I used the keyword " PROACTIVE", and before the election was over, just about every candidate in most races, picked up on it and wore it out. My key word this time is a phrase, and that phrase is "Make it Happen". Have you known ANY elected official in this city in the last four years who has actually been PROACTIVE? But we do have a lot of bench warmers.
There seems to be an unwritten rule in local politics (and maybe nationwide for that matter)..."If you can't Dazzle them with Brilliance, Baffle them with 'Bull...ogna'. Some politicians would rather have a root canal, than to answer a question honestly, for fear that which ever way they answer, they would loose some votes from the other side. But in fact there is nothing wrong with the TRUTH, whatever it may be. There is nothing wrong with admitting that you don't have all the answers.
We can sit around all day on that proverbial fence playing politics, talking out of both sides of our mouth, making people think that we care. But until we are honest enough to take a firm stand, we are not worthy of the citizens’ vote. You need to know where your candidate is coming from and more importantly ... where he’s going!
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it!
Some people like to take the ostrich approach and try to bury their heads in the sand, they are happy with the old saying "leave well enough alone"..."sleeping dogs lie".... "That was then, this is now". But we must know our past in order to learn from it and direct our future so as to not make the same mistakes again. With that in mind I give to you the following presentation.
I have laid out this website to be user friendly and to provide you, the voter, with the necessary links to see where I'm coming from. I don't expect anyone to memorize the complete content, nor do I expect everyone to totally agree with my point of view. We are all unique individuals, each one different from the other. We are a diverse city and all have our passions and concerns. The purpose of this site is to give you a 'consolidated brief memory refreshment course' of the last 4 years or so, so that you can make an informed decision on election day.
Not a day has gone by but I have not discussed, to some degree, better ways to improve our city. I have discussed matters with local businesses, friends, family, clergy, strangers on the street and even those that do not live here. I've either attended or watched the city council meetings on cable PACC 10, when time allowed, and kept abreast of current affairs through our Goldsboro News Argus. Which by the way has been very informative and of great help in organizing this website. I strongly recommend that if you are not a current subscriber, and want to stay on top of all the issues surrounding our community throughout this year, that you will take the time to subscribe.
Listening to the citizens over a period of years, I have come to the strong conclusion that they are not happy with the way our City is being run. Different ones speak out at different times in disgust and dismay. I have taken into consideration their complaints and concerns and have developed a general idea of the issues at stake and a strategy to resolve them.
I take full responsibility of the contents of these pages. Other than the absolute blatant facts that most everyone knows, and supported by documentation, the remainder of material contained herein is my honest and utter belief and opinion. As so eloquently stated by Dennis Miller..."That's just my opinion, I could be wrong".
If I am wrong in any particular area, I invite your comments, as I want to stand corrected. On the other hand, if I have stepped on anyone's toes,...well, there is another saying that goes......"Throw a brick into a pack of dogs and the one that barks the loudest is the one that got hit!!"
"Now get you some popcorn", sit back and read on!

The Election is over ... and the 'bad guys' won.
It does happen now and then in real life. Goldsboro is well on it's way to becoming the "Late, Great, Goldsboro. But all is not lost just yet. I will keep this website up as a way to get the truth out to the citizens who want to know it. I will show a spotlight on all of the city council's errors and short comings. I will call them on anything that is illegal or anytime that they say or do something STUPID. You know that will take up most of the bandwidth. Once I get it up, I will organize it so it's more presentable, but that will be down the road a little bit. Election time takes a lot out of everyone, and for right now it's a little R&R and getting back to the old routine. So please bear with me.
The main points of STUPID that we have experienced thus far into the election is:
1. It's legal! by the State of North Carolina
Prostitution is legal in Las Vegas, that doesn't make it moral or right. But what does the city council know about morals?
2. Those people (annexation victims) come into our city, use our roads, and drink our water and don't pay!
The Powell Bill compensates municipalities for road use.
"They" come in to our city, bring their money and conduct business here and leave their money here.
3. If it doesn't grow it will die. This is my favorite, The epitome of ignorance. Although they all stumble over it, getting it wrong, trying to rattle it off. Poor old Bob Waller, seems to have the hardest time. Of course to me Bob has always seemed to have a hard time thinking, you know like it hurt or something. Maybe that's why he always seems to speak after Chuck Allen, which the first words that come out of his mouth are, "I agree with Chuck" then he goes on to repeat what Chuck just said.
I don't think the council can present 1 logical reason to annex, and they maintain that they don't have too. Somebody's got to be making money somewhere to want it soooo bad.
Some people actually thought that I ran a negative campaign, I explained to a news reporter that focusing on all the negative that I would remove, as mayor, doesn't make it a negative campaign.
A negative campaign, would be something like me bringing up that Mayor Al King and Chuck Allen, while both married, were (we'll keep it clean here) "dating" the Thompson girls. This would probably be closer to negative than anything else. I, of course, could not prove it, so I would never present it as a fact, just as a topic for discussion I heard, It is up to the people to dismiss or believe it. Although I think the particulars are Alphonzo & Julie and Chuck & Johanna unless they swap off. I don't know. I guess if it can happen in the White House, anything goes in city hall!
.......................................................Warning!
Can you imagine the following appearing as a headline in the Goldsboro News Argus next year?
Mayor King Resigns Seat, Chuck Allen Appointed to Fill Vacated Position !
(DGDC Director, Julie Thompson's husband selected to finish Councilman Allen's 4 yr term ! )
I can. If you look at how things are going now, and where the power is on city council, it doesn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. Look at these articles on line (Click on the title to see the whole story) and do the math for yourself!
01/04/06 City's mayor will stay 'just Al King' in 2006
Al King never aspired to be mayor of Goldsboro.
In fact, he would have been satisfied living out his second retirement on a golf course or in a sports car, he said.
But when former Mayor Hal Plonk died unexpectedly in 2001, and King was approached by city councilmen and black city leaders as a possible interim mayor, he felt a sense of duty to the community he had grown to love.
"I was gonna play golf and just have a ball," he said. "When they told me they wanted me for mayor, I told them, 'man, you're crazy.'"
12/31/06 Mayor not yet sure if he will seek re-election
His golf game isn't what it used to be. The classic cars in his collection don't purr like they once did. ... he will have to decide whether or not to run for re-election. ...he will be content with putting down the gavel and picking up his clubs and keys.
05/31/07 Mayor King says he will seek re-election
Al King has been thinking about his son, Kevin, for the past few months -- not about November's election.
So when people asked him whether or not he would run for another term as Goldsboro's mayor, he had no answer -- just a few words about his "best friend" and how much he would love to retire again and hit the road with him. King has a wife and daughter, too -- and a passion for fast cars, solo rounds on the golf course and traveling the world.
"This is really not about me anymore -- I've retired twice, been all over," he said. "It's not the money. I don't need the title or any of that stuff. All I know is this is where I'm supposed to be. After the election, if I don't win, I'll know they're saying, 'Hey, you are out of here. Thanks, but we're finished with you.' Then I could walk away. I'll fly with my son, I'll get in my car and drive, I'll go play golf. But that hasn't happened yet."
10/10/07 King, Stuart get nods from voters for mayoral contest
...But King's family, although supportive, would also like him to consider other possibilities in the future.
King's son, an airline pilot, wants his dad to join him traveling and to "be done with that mayor stuff."
This has been mentioned too many times to be co-incidence. To me, it is paving the way for a political set up. Why Al King would do this to Goldsboro and what he will get out of this transaction, is hard to say.
It seems to me that Al King does not want to be mayor for 4 more years.
It's obvious to me that King wants out of city hall so he can do all those wonderful things that he can't do now as Mayor,
(although he has been out of town a lot lately instead of campaigning).
By some underhanded political manipulation, (although completely legal as far as I can see ) I believe, this is the ultimate plan.
But if you notice, he will be able to tell you, (everything mentioned above over the last 2 years) as an excuse and can say, "I have been trying to tell you, I want a life with my son. We have a good city council, everything is going smooth etc. I am going to finish out my life with my best friend, Kevin, playing golf, traveling, driving cars etc.
It is also apparent talking to the citizens of Goldsboro over the last four years that Chuck Allen wants power, which by his reputation, he could never get running on the ballot for mayor city-wide. The rest of the council will vote which ever way Chuck tells them to. I think you know that. What better way for Chuck Allen to become MAYOR? He will have it handed to him on a silver platter. That's the only way he could get it.
If you want Chuck Allen as your mayor next year, then I suggest, maybe you should vote for Al King this year.
God, help us all !
If you don't, then send your vote this way, to me, D. A. Stuart, the only person running for Goldsboro office that is
Not afraid of Chuck, (don't you think he's one of the top viewers of this website?)
..................................... Much the same way that Satan knows the Bible better than Billy Graham
Not afraid to investigate Bid rigging, Bribes, Conflict of Interest Claims, or Inside Information Abuse on this or past city councils.
......................................and just about the only person running who is
Not afraid to spell out where I stand on all issues,
Not afraid to speak up against the council when they take advantage of it's people.
Not afraid of the Truth
Do the Math! .............Research the Articles ........... Form your own opinions ............. Vote your convictions
Now just to set the record straight,
I am not saying that anyone on city council is doing anything illegal,
But then again, I am not,.......... NOT saying it either.
I do promise you, with my 16 years of Law Enforcement experience, that I will follow up on these leads without intimidation, and if it is found to be going on, I will waste no time turning the matter over to the State Attorney General, SBI and Grand Jury. There is a state law that says Felons can not hold public office.
Please talk to your neighbors, discuss the issues at hand. Encourage everyone you know to Pray, Contribute, Campaign, Support, Register and turn out to VOTE Nov 6th. The future of our city depends on YOU!
You have 2 ways to win here. First of all WRITE-IN SUSAN FARFOUR to replace Chuck Allen in District 5. That will help, but it is not a sure fire way to keep him from becoming a replacement for Mayor King. He will still have influence with the council and maybe enough "friends" still on council to do the trick. The surest way is to let Al King retire on Nov 6th by electing D.A. Stuart as your next Mayor.
